Tests
You can access your tests after selecting your user ID and protocol from the “Tests” option in the main menu, represented by a head icon.
Test Procedure
When you press the "Start" button, the protocol begins and the tests run sequentially in the defined order.
Instructions
At the beginning of each test, instructions will be displayed. If multiple pages are needed, you can navigate through them using the side arrows, just like in the menus.
Test Execution
Depending on your version of the MindBox, your score may be displayed at the end of each test.
Test Phases
Some tests are divided into several phases. Between each phase, new instructions will be shown for the upcoming segment.
List of Tests
Evaluation
This test is a self-assessment of your current state. You’ll be asked to rate your mental condition on various parameters (sleep quality/need, fatigue, stress, mood, mental load, clarity...). The scale can appear in three forms: - Verbal: read the question and choose the most appropriate word ("Excellent", "Good", "Poor"...). - Numeric: assign a score out of 7 to the statement; low scores are negative, high scores are positive. - Slider: a colored gradient from red to green spans the screen. Move the cursor to one of the 7 positions, where red is negative and green is positive. After each response, confirm using the green button at the bottom of the screen.
Questionnaire
Flicker
The flicker test measures your ability to detect changes in light — a strong physiological marker of fatigue.
A small LED above the MindBox screen will flash faster and faster until you perceive it as a steady light. This is your fusion frequency. Press the screen as soon as that happens.
The test may be repeated several times depending on the protocol.
Stroop
The Stroop effect measures your ability to inhibit interference between automatic processing (reading) and visual cues (colors).
Two versions are available in the MindBox.
In the first version, the instructions will give you a target word (e.g., "Blue"). The MindBox will then display a series of color names, printed in various font colors. Your goal is to tap the word that matches the target word, regardless of the color it's displayed in.
In the second version, the target is a color (e.g., the color blue, not the word "Blue"). Tap the word that is written in the correct color, regardless of the actual word it displays.
Go - No Go
This test primarily measures attention and reaction time. The instructions will indicate a target shape ("Go"). A series of shapes will appear; tap the correct one as quickly as possible.
CPT
The CPT works similarly to the Go - No Go, but with letters instead of shapes.
A "pairs" version also exists: the instructions will specify two letters, and you should tap the screen if you spot them in sequence.
CVMT
The CVMT is a memory test. A list of words to remember will be shown (possibly multiple times). A second list will then be displayed with a green check and red cross under each word.
If you think the word was on the original list, press the green checkmark. Otherwise, press the red cross.
Tower of London
This test evaluates mental representation. You must mentally manipulate objects.
The MindBox displays two images with colored balls in tubes. The image on the right is the starting state (state 1), and the image on the left is the goal state (state 2). Your task is to estimate the minimum number of steps (ball movements) required to reach the goal state from the initial one.
